What is M0yv?

M0yv is a virus that spreads further after successful infection by infecting other executable files on the system and in the network with itself. When executed, the malware connects to a server belonging to the attacker, via which commands can be executed on the target system and further malware can be downloaded.

How did I get infected with M0yv?

Since M0yv mainly spreads by infecting other files, infection usually occurs when an infected file is shared and executed, for example, via an external storage medium or a network.

What do I have to do now?

As M0yv can infect numerous files on infected devices, it is necessary to reinstall the operating system. M0yv also spreads via the network, which is why other computers in the same network may also be affected.
