In relation to the system category “Hospital”, the BSI Kritis Regulation refers to Section 108 of the German Social Security Code Book V. The starting point for identifying the location and operating premises of a hospital in accordance with the regulation is therefore (state) hospital planning. The BSI Kritis Regulation defines the system category of “hospital” as the “location or operating premises of a hospital [...] licensed in accordance with Section 108 of the German Social Security Code Book V [...]” (see Annex 5, Part 1, No. 1a of the BSI Kritis Regulation). The definition therefore contains two alternative elements:
“A hospital is the location of a hospital licensed in accordance with Section 108 […]”; and
“A hospital comprises the premises (and namely all) of a hospital licensed in accordance with Section 108 […].”
In the case of number 2, all premises that are regarded as a hospital within the meaning of (respective) state hospital planning (notice of assessment) are to be considered as a system pursuant to the regulation. In-patient cases of the individual premises must be added together in this case. This basis for calculation has no further connection to the institution code numbers. On this basis, please check the number of in-patient cases to be accumulated if necessary.
