If the URL http://www.bsi.bund.de/tr-esor/sigpolicy/verify-xaip is included in the DefaultPolicy/SignaturePolicyIdentifier element  within the dss: OptionalInputs-element of a Verify-request, this  means that all signature-related objects (signatures, time stamps, certificates, revocation lists, OCSP responses, etc.) must be  verified up to a trustworthy root. If the the Type-Attribute http://www.bsi.bund.de/tr-esor/api/1.2 is included in the ReturnUpdatedSignature aus Abschnitt 4.5.8 of [OASIS-DSS] within the dss: OptionalInputs-element of a Verify-request, this means that all certificates and revocation information of a time stamp validation up to a trustworthy root are verified and that verification information obtained in doing so shall be inserted into the time stamp in the manner specified in [TR-ESOR-F].
